How we work
Long experience has shown us that how we go about our work is at least as important as what we do. It's our tried-and-tested process. See how we go about getting the best results for our clients, every time.
We offer all prospective clients an initial consultation at our expense. This meeting will last for around two hours and help us to understand your financial objectives and whether we can support you in working towards your goals.
At this meeting, we will detail the costs you can expect to pay, and the levels of our services both initially and throughout our relationship with you.
This part of the process can either occur directly after the initial discussion or at a further appointment later.
At this meeting we will gather information about your existing financial arrangements and gain a deep understanding of your current circumstances, your attitude and tolerance to risk, and your investment knowledge. We’ll ask you about your specific financial concerns and, very importantly, explore your goals for the future.
We’ll then go away and undertake an intense period of research and exploration. That involves us analysing the data you have given us to assess whether your current arrangements will produce the desired results in the timescale you wish.
Where they do not, we will explore alternative courses of action you can take, and evaluate their effectiveness in helping you to reach your goals.
When we’ve analysed all the possible courses of action available to you, we’ll put our recommendations into one comprehensive financial plan, detailing the strategies our research has shown that could help you achieve your objectives and the asset allocation model that matches your risk profile.
We’ll explain the rationale – and evidence – behind our recommendations and allow you to ask all the questions you need to make an informed decision about your next steps.
Should you wish us to proceed with any or all of our recommendations, we will handle all the necessary fund and policy administration on your behalf and provide regular updates to keep you informed of our process. We will ensure that all documents are issued in line with your expectations and confirm all actions taken on your behalf, in writing.
To ensure you remain on track to achieve your goals, we remain available at any time, allowing us to address any financial concerns you may have or any issues that necessitate a change to your arrangements.
Also, we schedule an Annual Financial Review four weeks before your birthday. Your Annual Review is a face-to-face meeting. At this meeting, we will review your needs and objectives, personal circumstances, attitude to risk and capacity for loss, along with the impact of any tax or legislative changes that have occurred since we last met. We will also provide a detailed valuation report and discuss any other matters that are important to you.
